Software Business Analyst

What You’ll Be Doing

• Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders and product managers to understand the business needs, objectives, and requirements for software solutions.
• Process Analysis: Analyze business processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
• Evidence-Based Decision Making: Make decisions based on evidence, drawing on user research, usage and performance data, market research and analysis, and technology trends.
• User Advocacy: Champion the needs of our software users throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, designers, developers, QA, project managers, and other roles as applicable, on development goals.
• Software Development Projects:
• Work closely with product managers throughout projects.
• Conduct user research and gather functional and non-functional requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers in refining designs.
• Document business requirements in detailed user stories, use cases and technical specifications.
• Assist in the planning releases/sprints.
• Conduct internal and user-acceptance testing to ensure quality.
• Work with product manager to provide status updates and release communication.
• Assist with post implementation support, including creating release notes, training, and support materials.
• Identify areas for improving the product through customer feedback, usability testing, analytics, and research.
• Stay informed of relevant industry trends and competitive landscape.
• Innovation and Learning: Continually seek to learn and innovate, exploring new ideas and technologies.
• Domain Expertise: Obtain and demonstrate deep understanding of the product’s business domain and users.

 

Expected Qualifications

• Experience: 1 – 2 years of software Business Analysis or comparable experience.
• Communication: Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Critical Thinking: Demonstrates exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Attention to Detail: Exhibits a meticulous attention to detail.
• Empathy: Demonstrates empathy for others, especially customers and software users, ensuring their needs and perspectives inform decision-making.
• Decisiveness: Ability to work through ambiguity and make good decisions, articulating clear rationale and building alignment.
• Time Management: Ability to prioritize and management multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Software Experience:MS Office, MS Teams, and a working knowledge of enterprise-level applications.

 

Nice to Have

• Product Management experience in enterprise SaaS.
• Experience using Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar project management software.
• Experience with databases (SQL) and APIs.
• Experience with MS Dynamics.
• Experience in the Insurance, Finance, or E-commerce industries.
